"GOING HOME "

I ran across this poem from 2011, and since it's Sunday, thought I would share. If you've enjoyed reading the few poems I've posted, please let me know and I will share more often. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this one as it's one of my favorites. :)

God bless and have a wonderful Sunday.

~~~ GOING HOME ~~~
There's a subtle sound falling on my ears,
I feel it's breath as it speaks.
It comes from the wind that blows through the trees,
and the ripples and waves of the creeks.
It's in the raindrops, in each leaf that falls,
in the flowers and dew of the 'morn.
It's in the birds' wings, and the rays of the sun;
it's in each new babe that is born.
It beckons me, "Come!" It's calling my name;
it's voice so tender and sweet.
"Come home," it whispers, "I'm waiting for you.
There's others I want you to meet."
My time is near, my race I have run.
There's no sorrow, no regrets in my heart.
Just memories of life, some laughter, some tears,
I'll take with me when once I depart.
Love sweet love!
It's been a busy two days for me, cleaning and moving furniture about. I finally got my office somewhat arranged where I can better concentrate on my writing. It's very small, so just removing and moving a couple of things made a huge difference. A big THANK YOU! to my daughter, Tiffany, for all her help.
Before I was a writer, I was an avid reader as most writers I know were. What I mostly enjoyed were the classics, but honestly, you don't have to be a best selling author to please me. I've picked up books by little known authors and read them in a single day they were so good.
Isn't it great when you fall in love with a love story and soon find it was made into a movie? And to top it off, you find the movie to be ever as good as the book! This just recently happened to me with the book, "The Light Between Oceans."  It was fabulous, and I highly recommend the book and the movie. Get them soon, I promise you'll be glad you did.
I don't do the traditional holidays myself, but seeing the lovely Valentine pictures and posts on FB these past few days has been so nice. I do hope all my friends enjoyed their holiday. :) I know a few who did. :)
As the song goes: "What the World Needs Now, is Love Sweet Love." I so agree, don't you?
Blessings to all!
